After the incredible success of the Audio Essentials workshop in St. Lucia, London, and St. Maarten, the Precision Productions team will once again return to our home base, Trinidad.

For five (5) days, Kasey Phillips, the Owner, CEO, and Head Producer at Precision Productions, will be sharing the trademark secrets, and insider tips he has used in studio to produce such hits as, Groovy Monarch winner, “Mr. Fete” by Machel Montano, Soca Monarch winner, “Cheers to Life” by Voice, and more recently “Right For Somebody” by Kerwin Du Bois, off of 2019’s unforgettable Osaka Riddim.

His work also includes hits by Patrice Roberts on the 10X Over Riddim, alongside countless others on the Antilles Riddim, 3Zero Riddim, Lip Service Riddim, and the Physique Riddim.

He will be joined by a few expert panelists, including, Theron Thomas. A Grammy Award winning songwriter, and a member of the record production duo, R.City, from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Theron has worked with international stars like Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Ciara, Nicki Minaj, Future, and many others.

We are also pleased to welcome Danni Washington, Television personality and social media influencer based in Miami who is also a virtuoso in the field of Digital Marketing; along with Patrice Millien, an Arts & Entertainment Project Management Specialist, and the founder of A Millien Concepts.

The panel will additionally feature, Kit Israel of Advokit Productions, as well as an entertainment lawyer who will participate digitally, sharing international insight into the music business and the contractual sides of creating, selling, and publishing music.

Joining us as well will be Katharine Magsaysay, who currently manages Precision Productions’ social media and marketing for the Audio Essentials workshop. She will be there to share her insight on the importance of using social media as a tool to get yourself out there, in addition to showing participants how to monetize their work on these platforms.

A breakdown of the daily discussions and topics for the workshop follows:

  • Day 1 -

    • Getting Started - Covering the basics needed for a recording studio setup. Important topics like acoustics, cabling, and equipment, will be addressed. Also included will be a listening session to help the team assess the current levels of the students, thereby giving them a comparison point, for the end of the workshop, in order to hear their own improvements.

    • Production - Starting a music production, learning software, insider tips, working with instruments, and implementing audio effects.

    • Production Submission Review with Full Panel Feedback

  • Day 2 -

    • Song Writing w/ Theron Thomas (R.City) - A hands-on approach to songwriting with Theron Thomas, Grammy award winning songwriter and a member of record production duo R.City from Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

    • Songwriting Approach with Kit Israel - A lesson that covers the fundamentals and procedures of songwriting.

    • Song Submission Review with Full Panel Feedback

  • Day 3 -

    • Recording - Getting vocal recordings done at optimal quality, and executing vocal productions that meet international standards. Explaining the steps needed and the procedures to be followed in order to prepare for excellence in mixing.

    • Mixing with Kasey Phillips - Aligning the music levels, creating a mix, and completion via mastering

  • Day 4 -

    • Business Relations and Etiquette w/ Patrice Millien - Learning how to professionally handle business relationships in the music industry, both inside and outside of the recording studio.

    • Music Business - Working effectively with a team, and an artist, as well as their management. Understanding copyright and contracts.

  • Day 5 -

    • Digital Marketing w/ Danni Washington - Insights into the growing trends of digital marketing, being an influencer and monetizing your work on the marketing platforms.

    •  Social Media/Relationship Management w/ Katharine Nicole Magsaysay - Insights into the importance of social media and how to use its tools and platforms to get yourself out there, how to set yourself up for monetization, and creating relationships to help you grow and scale.From this breakdown, it should be clear that not only are practical production skills going to be taught, but also vital information about working in the music industry will be shared.
